Early
1900s
The journey started from Jalgaon
Jagannath Mulchand Kogta migrated to Jalgaon, seeking a better opportunity for livelihood in the early years of the 20th century.
1940
The beginning of the entrepreneurship era
He started working in a provision shop, weighing and packing groceries. After gaining a few years of experience, he opened his own provision store at Bhavani Peth in the year 1940.
1960
The second generation entered the business
His son Ramnarayan, after getting trained, followed his father’s footsteps to open ‘Kogta Provision Store’ at Ganesh building in Navi Peth area in the year 1960. Soon after, another store, ‘Kirti Provisions’, opened on MG Road.
1976
Shreeram Besan Industries established diversification
We stepped into manufacturing with the establishment of Shreeram Besan Industries, our flour unit, in 1976.
1984
Started manufacturing with a pulse processing unit
We began retailing Besan along with other products. Expanding our horizon, we initiated 'Gopal Dal Mill', a pulse processing plant, in the next 8 years.
1992
The first step into the international market
Then, in 1992, another milestone of success was achieved. With the co-operation of a few exporters, we launched our first stride into the international market. This takeoff marked an important leap in the journey of Dal Parivar.

Global presence with the in-house export facility
This achievement laid the foundation for something even greater—our very own export house by the end of the 20th century. Dal Parivar truly became an international family in 2002 and started exporting pulses of all varieties to every corner of the world.
